Halloween Week

This year Ryan decided she was going to be Jessie from Toy Story and Drew had to be Woody.

We had a long, sugar filled week of Halloween activities.  We started out the week by going to the Storybook Forest.

Then the kids had a Halloween party at their friends Noah and Gavin's house.  They had a great time playing and eating!

Then we had a carnival and auction at Ryan's school.

This year Edmond celebrated Halloween on Saturday.  We went trick-or-treating with The Steves family and then handed out candy to the "candiers" as Ryan called them.

Tonight we went to the Halloween kids carnival at Quail Creek.  Our friends the McCoys came with us. Ryan and Addison had a good time decorating pumpkins, playing game and most of all eating candy! Ryan and Drew were so worn out from the week that they came home, took baths and were in bed by 6:30!

Crazy Weekend

So Friday was Darin's birthday.  We had set it up for Maddie and Blake to babysit the kids so we could have a nice childless birthday dinner.  Well at about 4:30 on Friday afternoon that little date night changed.  I walked into the laundry room and slipped on water and went sliding into the staircase hitting my knee, elbow and head all while landing in ankle deep water. I looked into the laundry room to see water flowing out the top of the washing machine! Thankfully Drew was in his bed and Ryan was sitting at the table having a snack.  I call Darin and leave an over dramatic message saying something along the lines of "I think I broke my knee and elbow and the house is flooding!  Come home right now!"  I put every towel we own on the floor to stop the water from getting to the carpet and start trying to salvage everything that was on the ground in the pantry and laundry room that is now floating away.  Darin gets home and starts cleaning, Maddie comes and picks up the kids and feeds them and I nurse the elbow which I really can't move.  About an hour later we decide to punt dinner and go to McBride to get an X-Ray on my elbow.  Turns out I am a wimp and it was just a bruised elbow and I am going to live.  This is the second birthday in a row for Darin that I have fallen and ruined his birthday dinner.  He thinks I have issues with him getting all the attention that day.  He told me next year he is going to plan a birthday dinner without me.  (Last year I was 8 months preggo with Drew and I tripped over Ryan and fell on my belly.  He got another over dramatic phone call and we spent the evening up at Lakeside hooked up to the monitors to make sure everything was okay.  We were lucky and everyone was fine.)

Then we wake up Saturday morning and had planned on taking the kids to the pumpkin patch.  I walk in Drew's closet and the carpet is soaked!  Apparently the water went through the wall into his closet and part of his room.  So once again our plans are altered.  Darin now has to move everything in the closet and room so he can pull back the carpet and dry them.  Ryan was so excited to go to the pumpkin patch so I took them by myself so they would be out of Darin's way while he works.  Here are some pictures from the pumpkin patch...

Drew

Since the last few posts have been mostly about Ryan I felt like we needed one on Drew-Man.  Drew is 10 months old now and a ball of fire.  He has learned to stand on his own and he has taken 8-10 steps numerous times.  He hasn't started officially walking because he won't slow down enough to get his balance.  He just takes off running and then dives at whatever he is trying to get to.  He is fearless and the total opposite of Ryan.  We have had to re-childproof the house because he has found stuff to get into that Ryan never even thought of.  He still loves Ryan and just thinks she hung the moon.  He lights up the second he sees or hears her and wants to constantly be wherever she is.  They are only 4 lbs different in size now so they have been able to play a lot more without Drew getting hurt.  Their new thing is for Ryan to tickle him until he falls on the floor and then she tackles him and holds him down until he is able to escape from her.  They both think it the funniest thing ever.

I left him alone for about a minute and I find him here

His favorite things to do right now...be outside and walking

They did this over and over at the park yesterday!

Birthday Party

The birthday party was a blast!  The kids bounced, ran around and went down the slides a million times.  After cake and presents we headed home for LONG naps!  The best part about the whole party is we didn't have to clean up a thing!  Now for lots of pics....

3!

Tuesday was Ryan's 3rd birthday!  She couldn't be happier about all the attention.  She has been talking about all the things she is going to do and like when she is 3 for months now.  Examples: she will like Santa (climbed up my leg screaming and crying when she saw him last year... so we will see), she will like salad, she will be able to eat all of her dinner every night, and my favorite that she will be able to get completely dressed with shoes and comb her hair all by herself.  Its so funny to me how she thinks being 3 is such a huge deal.  If I call her a kid or anything about being little she corrects me and says "I'm a big girl now mom because I am 3."

2nd birthday

She had a great day on Tuesday.  She had a doughnut and chocolate milk for breakfast before going to school.  At school she got to bring a special birthday snack for her friends.  Of course she wanted to bring pink princess cookies.  That night we went to Red Robin for dinner.  She wanted to sit outside and have a big pink milkshake with sprinkles.  She LOVED every second of her special day!  We are having her party on Saturday with her friend Noah at Bouncin Craze.  She can't wait!
