Weekend fun

Our last 2 weekends have revolved around the water.  Fathers Day weekend we spent swimming at Maddie's neighborhood pool (the frog pool as Ryan calls it) and at my dads house.  The kids had a blast swimming all day and slept great at night!

Then last weekend we went to Lake Tenkiller with some friends. They have 2 girls very close in age with our kids which worked out great.  The kids had an awesome time playing, riding the golf cart, tubing, riding on the boat and swimming. We had a great time entertaining the kids and hanging out playing games and drinking skinny margaritas at night.  Here are some pictures from the weekend:

Drew LOVED all of the attention he got from the "big girls"

You know it was a successful weekend when they are this tired!

Swimming

We have been spending lots of time at the pool this summer.  Drew is a fish and has no fear of anything.  He jumps off the side and goes all the way underwater as many times as you will let him. He loves to walk up to every mom with snacks at the pool and gives them his cute smile while saying "please".  I think he thinks part of the reason we go to the pool is to eat.  Ryan is a lot more cautious and prefers for her face to stay out of the water.  She pretty much entertains herself in the kid pool while being the social butterfly.  Everyday she meets new friends to play with.

We have also been going on walks and riding bikes in the mornings before it gets too hot.

Just  some random IPhone pics from the last couple of weeks.

Child-LESS weekend

The kids went to Tulsa to stay with my Mom and Mike over the weekend.  Darin and I packed as much into the few days as we could!   They left on Thursday evening and we met half way to get them Sunday morning.  Darin took off work Friday so we could spend the day together and then we hung out with friends on Saturday.  We had our 7 year anniversary over Memorial weekend and didn't really do anything so we celebrated with a nice dinner and a night at the Skirvin Hotel.

While they were gone we:

saw 2 movies at the theater and 1 at home
had 1 lunch date
went out to dinner 2 times
layed out at the pool 2 days
did the Gorilla Challenge which resulted in an 8 mile run
stayed 1 night at the Skirvin
hung out with friends on a rooftop bar as long as we wanted
went to the mall and shopped
went to Sams
went to Academy

It's amazing the amount of things you can get done when you don't have to deal with getting kids in and out of car seats, naps, early bed times, sunscreen at the pool, strollers and wiping mouths and hands and handing out snacks.

We had a great time and were all refreshed and ready to get the kids back on Sunday.  Thanks to my Mom and Mike for taking the kids (even though Drew was of course sick and coughing and sleeping awful)!
