Merry Christmas

Here are some quick pictures from the week.  We have been busy baking cinnamon rolls, packing for California and cleaning the house so we can host Christmas for 20 people.  We also have enjoyed the nice weather we have been having!

Catch up

This is a catch-up post because I have lots of pictures and some videos from the weekend.  We enjoyed the weekend at home before the crazy holiday stuff begins for us.

Doing a little grocery shopping

We made a gingerbread train (It was a lot harder then it looked like on the box)

 The finished product!

Ryan has insisted on listening to Christmas music during the day.  She also likes to have "dance parties" and has recently started making Drew participate.  Its pretty cute because he loves the attention from her! The next video is of Ryan singing "I wanna be a rockin roll star."  She is dancing so hard that she doesn't notice Drew walking up behind her and she knocks him over.

We had the kids 3yr and 1yr doctor's appointments yesterday.  Ryan started crying the second I told her she had to go to the Dr.  I have no idea why but she was absolutely terrified of going to the Dr even though she knew she didn't have to get any shots.  Luckily Darin was able to meet us there to help out.  Ryan screamed at the top of her lungs the whole time they looked at her so Darin had to hold her down.  As soon as she was done and it was Drew's turn she was back to her happy, chatty self.

Ryan finally grew this year!  She weighs 27.5 pounds and is 36.5 inches tall.  She moved up on the chart in both, she is 10th percentile in weight and 25th for height. She was 5th and 10th percentiles last year.

Drew has slimmed up quite a bit since he has been walking.  He weighed 20.12 and is 30in.  He is 52nd percentile in height and 20th in weight.  At his 6 month appt. he was 70% in both.

Here are a couple of the pictures that Kristi Morton from Twice Blessed Photography took a couple of weeks ago.

Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a fun and relaxing Thanksgiving weekend.  On Wednesday Ryan and I had a "girls night" at the Thunder game.  She had so much fun looking for Rumble (the mascot) and eating ice cream.  It worked out great because some of our friends that we share the tickets with have a 3 year old son who also came to the game.  They had a great time playing and spotting Rumble.  Then on Thanksgiving day we put up our Christmas decorations and had dinner at my dads.

Thursday night at midnight Darin and I went to the mall to do some early Black Friday shopping.  Darin does this every year usually to all of the crazy busy places at 3AM but this was my first time.  Crowds are not my thing and I am not always a fast shopper so Darin says I would just be in his way. Well this year I decided I could handle the midnight thing because we would be done and in bed by the time the crazy people get there.  Plus 50% off of everything in the store at Gap and Baby Gap is too good to miss out on.  Thanks to Stu and Cat for spending the night so we could go!  Long story short we survived and even went to a few other stores at the mall that were open too.  It was actually pretty fun and unbelievable how much money we were able to save!  I was home and in bed by 3.  (Darin actually went back out so he could go to a few of the stores that open at 3).  Glad I missed that :)

*Sorry no pictures because I was too busy shopping fast!

Saturday we took the kids to see Santa.  We were a little nervous because last year we took them and the second we got up to the front Ryan fell apart and started screaming and crying while climbing up my leg.  So just Drew who was a couple weeks old got his picture taken with Santa by himself.  Ryan had told us a hundred times when she was 3 that she would like Santa so we tried again.  It went great!  She sat on his lap and even told Santa that she wanted some harder puzzles because hers were too easy and that Drew wanted some cars because he loves them.  Drew didn't seem to mind him at all either so it was a successful Santa picture year!

Happy Birthday Drew!

Happy 1st birthday Drew!

Drew didn't feel good all weekend.  He was sick for his 1year/family pics, his bday party and on his actual bday.  He got on antibiotics yesterday so hopefully he will be feeling better soon.   Luckily it didn't slow him down at eating his turkey cake at all!  He had a good time and has loved playing with all of his boy toys that he got.  He is happy to not have to always play with Barbies, baby dolls and kitchen stuff.  The house is now filled with cars, trucks, balls and planes.  Here are some pictures from his party...

About to dig in!

Looking over to make sure this is okay to be doing

Way too much sugar!

Not sure we thought about the color he would be when we chose the cake.
He went straight to the bath!

We love you sweet little man!

Runs

We have been busy the last couple of weekends doing runs.  A couple of weeks ago Darin was in charge of putting together a run for the Edmond Fine Arts Institute called the 5K to Monet.  It was so cold and windy that morning but we all went out and did it anyway.  Ryan had decided that she wanted to run in a race because we had been going to a lot of Cross Country meets to watch her babysitter Reagan run and her Aunt Cat coach. We made her practice to make sure she could finish a mile and she did it with no problems. She ran it with her Mammy and Cat.  She had a hard time getting going because she was freezing but once she started running did great.

Ready to practice with Daddy

She did it!

We also did the McNellies Pub Run.  You run 4 miles and drink 3 Guinness beers during the race.  Then after the race you get 2 more beers.  This is the 3rd year we have done it because it is always a great time!!

It's official...

...Drew is walking.  He has been walking for about a month when he wanted something or when we helped him get his balance.  Just this week he has taken off on his own.  I forgot how cute they are when they are trying so hard to balance with their arms out.  I got a couple of videos of him yesterday.

Halloween Week

This year Ryan decided she was going to be Jessie from Toy Story and Drew had to be Woody.

We had a long, sugar filled week of Halloween activities.  We started out the week by going to the Storybook Forest.

Then the kids had a Halloween party at their friends Noah and Gavin's house.  They had a great time playing and eating!

Then we had a carnival and auction at Ryan's school.

Friday night we carved pumpkins.

This year Edmond celebrated Halloween on Saturday.  We went trick-or-treating with The Steves family and then handed out candy to the "candiers" as Ryan called them.

Tonight we went to the Halloween kids carnival at Quail Creek.  Our friends the McCoys came with us. Ryan and Addison had a good time decorating pumpkins, playing game and most of all eating candy! Ryan and Drew were so worn out from the week that they came home, took baths and were in bed by 6:30!
