Last minute ABQ trip

We just got back from visiting Stu and Cat in Albuquerque and as usual had a great time!  We decided to take the kids last minute to Sandia to try out skiing for the day.  Darin and I went into it with very low expectations: Drew really is too young and Ryan is very cautious and likes to know she can do something before she tries it.  And it went about like we expected.....lots of tears and we only lasted a couple of hours.  It wasn't a total bust because they LOVED playing in the snow and we found out they weren't ready to plan a whole ski trip with yet!  We decided we would try again in a couple of years when they can both go to ski school.

 On our way...Still excited!

Starts snowing, the wind picks up and the temp drops to 16 degrees....the odds were against us at this point

She wouldn't look at me bc she was still mad

*Sorry for the missing pictures of  them attempting to ski (crying, screaming and going limp noodle) because I was busy consoling my children.

Picture catch up

Drew dressing up as a BOY finally :)

Drew's eyes are really sensitive to the sun so he always has to have sunglasses on in the car.  He lost his and wasn't very happy about having to wear Ry's Barbie ones.

I got him 2 new pairs that he loves!

They called themselves the "Shirtless Rockstars"

Drew has decided that he is ready to pee in the potty!   He loves using the potty like sissy and really loves wearing superhero "unies"  Not the best timing because we are getting ready to go out of town but I have been letting him wear them around the house. I think we will do the 3 day potty training boot camp when we get back!

The kids went fishing this weekend at Papi's house.  They had so much fun!

Drew caught his first fish!! He even touched it while Ryan looked at it from a distance.

Finally well!!

I think I can officially say we have overcome the month long runny nose and horrible cough that both kids have had!! We went to the Dr multiple times, had steroid shots, antibiotics, inhalers and a nebulizer.  But we are finally done with medicine and not waking up multiple times coughing!

 Drew doing his breathing treatments

 Posing with JoJo the nebulizer

 Ry doing treatments

Ryan took 3 hr naps a couple of times a week while she was sick.  It was a nice break for me but I knew she really was sick because she NEVER naps!

At the Dr....Ryan and Addy teaching Drew how to "pose"

Only in Oklahoma....

would you write a blog about snow and the nice spring-like weather in the same week!!

The weather has been awesome and we have been taking full advantage of it by spending a ton of time outside. I got out the camera and took some pictures of them playing this week.

SNOW

I went to Denver to visit Maddie and Blake a couple of weekends ago. We had a great time shopping and eating amazing food!

 Walking home from dinner

Standing in the 2 feet of snow they got the night before I got there!

We FINALLY got our first snow in Edmond! It was maybe a couple of inches but the kids were still so excited to get out and play in it.  I bundled them up and they ran around playing before it started to melt.

Updates

Drew has hit the Terrible 2 stage hardcore.  We have been spending WAY TOO MUCH time dealing with this....

Pretty sure this fit was because he had to sit in his car seat and he wanted to sit in Ryan's

But when is he getting his way he is still a happy, sweet boy....who likes to sing and dance to Justin Beiber with his sister

Darin won the Edmond Young Professional award at the Edmond Chamber banquet.  We are so proud of him!!! (Ryan was really impressed because his "trophy" was bigger than her soccer trophy)

We are really into dressing up...at all times

Notice Drew is in superhero costumes and not dresses...baby steps
